As VolCorp continues to encourage member credit unions to implement NCUA security requirements, our goal is to provide you with affordable security training on a regular basis to help you deal with the myriad of security issues.

VolCorp has partnered with MainNerve to offer a Security Awareness Webinar on September 23rd from 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm CST.

Webinar Highlights:

• Information Security basics: The “security triad” of Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability and how those enable us to be more efficient and effective;
• Overview of recent security issues that are relevant to the credit union industry
• People, Process, Technology: Three key areas of security that need consideration;
• Definitions of key information security terms;
• The importance of using unique user accounts and non-shared private passwords;
• The importance of keeping passwords private;
• Using anti-virus/anti-spyware/anti-malware software to prevent infections and data leakage;
• Personal firewall software to restrict connections to PC’s at the credit union;
• The importance of patching computer systems on a regular basis; and
• Using screen savers to restrict unauthorized access to unattended computer systems.

The information will be presented in a manner that is interesting and easily understood by non-technical individuals.

Mark is currently the InfoSec sector leader for the State of Tennessee Office of Homeland Security Advisory Council, and serves on the Information Security Advisory Board for the Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County Government.
